Hurst Chang-Wei Lin goes to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center

hurstchang-weilin1bwHurst Chang-Wei Lin left his job as a magazine editor in Taiwan to pursue “a life as an artist who can color the human body,” which led him to the Academy for a M.F.A. in Fashion Design. His B.A. in Chinese Literature and interest in different religions prompted him to use alchemy as his inspiration. Drawing from photographs of alchemists, Arabian traditional costumes, and drawings of Templar and alchemist symbols, Hurst created a women’s collection of boxy silhouettes and interesting seam placements with worsted wool, tweed, felt, silk organza, and stainless steel mesh.
