This past Tuesday, April 24, San Francisco received a visit from the ever so stylish and talented Brad Goreski, from the hit TV Show It’s a Brad, Brad World on Bravo. Having earned his fame as Rachel Zoe’s assistant on the Rachel Zoe Project, this stylist’s career has taken off like wildfire and has proven that he can hold his own independent of his association with Zoe.
Now, Goreski has his own television show, and a fast paced career. So what better way to document his journey than through a book? Born To Be Brad, My Life and My Style, So Far is a documentation of his humble beginnings as the “awkward kid” at school to his transformation into a modern trendsetter.
The Black Fleece boutique on Fillmore Street hosted Goreski’s sophisticated book-signing party. The evening began around 6:30, when fans of all ages started filling in. Bow-tie clad servers kept a fun vibe going by offering white wine, champagne, and delicious hors d’oeuvres. Refinery29 was there snapping pictures of his stylish fans and documenting the event. Before getting in line, you had the opportunity to purchase the book while browsing the boutique’s preppy but sophisticated merchandise.

We can always count on GenArt to keep us informed about up-and-coming artists to be on the lookout for – and this year they brought a few of their faves out to the desert for Coachella! The first annual GenArt MUSE party went down last Friday, bringing together the worlds of art, music, fashion, and film for an unforgettable evening.
There were amazing art installations by fine artists Anthony James and Kevin Llewellyn, and one of the raddest things at MUSE was being able to watch artists paint and create throughout the night. Party-goers were able partake in the creativity as well at the Paul Frank “paint by numbers” mural and at the HoodieBuddie screen-printing station. And in true Coachella spirit, they even had a friendship bracelet and dream catcher station. On the fashion front, Wildfox Couture had a Romeo + Juliet themed camp that had us feeling some serious ’90s nostalgia. They even decorated teepees with their signature fringed tees and tanks.
And it wouldn’t be a true Coachella after party without some amazing music. DJs Bizzy, Rick Rude, and Chris Masterson kept us dancing all night in the Ciroc Love Chapel. And on the main event stage, our fave was Fernando Garibay – who worked on Lady Gaga’s Born this Way – and mixed it up like nobody’s business.

We hope that some of you were able to stop by the De Young Museum this weekend for the Discarded to Divine preview – but for those of you who couldn’t make it, we’ve got another way to preview the designs! This year, they are holding a People’s Choice Twitter Contest, giving the people a chance to vote for their favorite pieces. You can view all of the looks on the Discarded to Divine Flickr page, and then cast your vote with a Tweet! Just be sure to include the designer’s name and lot number, as well as @discardd2divine and @deyoungmuseum.
They’ll be counting votes up until the night of the gala, on Thursday, April 26th. For more info or to buy tickets, go to www.discardedtodivine.org.
