A 7×7 Magazine Internship is Up For Grabs!

Attention San Francisco-based Fashion Journalism students (or anyone else who might be interested): The SF lifestyle publication 7×7 Magazine is looking for interns for Fall 2010.

Candidates must be students (either on summer break or currently enrolled in classes; graduated seniors do not count) and must be available to work 2-3 full days each week. The program will start in September and end in December.

DNA is Looking for Some Interns

This is a bit last minute, but we thought you would like to know anyway…

DNA is growing at a fast pace and we are looking to build a team of hustlers. We are hiring for an intern to start July 26th through end of September. We work with emerging and contemporary fashion designers and produce pop-up shops and fashion events in NYC, SF and L.A. We need one intern to be based in the San Francisco/Bay Area, able to commute and telecommute and handle multiple tasks in fashion PR and events production. Essentially, we are looking for someone to assist as a liaison between the designers and us. This is a great chance to learn about the fashion industry and if internship works out, there is opportunity for hire. We have a heavy lineup of high-profile projects and events, so we need someone reliable, smart, fast on their feet and punctual.

Responsibilities:
- online research for event logistics (venues, sponsors, catering, etc)
- writing press releases
- trend & editorial stories for blog
- assisting in models casting, pre-event production prep and front-of-house duties at pop-up’s & fashion shows

Requirements:
- for academic credit only (must be in school)
- work independently, commit minimum of 20 hours a week
- strong interest in fashion and be outgoing/proactive
- excellent communication skills
- proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, big plus if you have Adobe Photoshop skills
- must have own laptop/computer
- savvy in social media platforms

It’s BCBG Internship Time!

Are you interested in th BCBG Fall 2010/ Spring 2011 Internship? If you are, here is all the info you need to know:

BCBG Internship Recruiter Vince Duran will be visiting on April 26th and April 27th and interviewing candidates for FALL and SPRING (no Summer) full-time internships across all divisions with emphasis on Textiles, Apparel and Accessories. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with the BCBG design team and learn hands on while supporting the team. In exchange, the combination of industry experience and resume building potential is invaluable. All internships are based in Los Angeles with flexible start and end dates. There are approximately 8-10 positions available. While interning, completing LA courses or other FSH courses Online is encouraged.

Eligibility: Internship opportunities are Full Time, Unpaid and for School Credit Only. Both MFA and BFA students are invited to apply provided enough units are completed to qualify for Internship for Credit and FSH Units are available for the Internship (Please check with your Advisor if needed to see if you qualify)

Interviews: Monday, April 26th and Tuesday, April 27th (30 minute interviews running 9:00- 5pm). They will take place in the 79 New Montgomery Conference Room.

Here’s a handy dandy interview checklist so that you are prepared:

- Portfolio (3 or more projects recommended)
- 2 copies of Resume
- Mini Portfolio/ Takeaway Items (optional)
- Perform research of the various divisions of the BCBG brand and the BCBG vision

Intern for ‘Ethos’

Project Ethos produces red carpet events that showcase emerging talent in fashion, music and art all under one roof in one night. They have featured over 100 designers, 100 artists and 40 music acts in 4 years. They aim to expose the younger generation by giving them a place to display their work professionally on the runway, stage, and in an art gallery.

Are you interested yet? Well, they are interested in bringing on some interns.

Interns collaborate with designers and artists featured in our events to help them gain press exposure, sales and branding to local media and buyers. This is an amazing chance for students to network, develop valuable real world skills and get a better understanding of what the marketplace is like. Interns must be 18 years and older and dedicate 10-12 additional hours per week outside of work.

Inez snags a BCBG internship!

Breaking news! Inez Marie Galvez, who is currently a junior, was selected as an intern for BCBG!

Last December, BCBG’s College Relations Manager, Vincent Duran visited our school and conducted interviews and reviewed portfolios. He was impressed with Inez’s work and chose her for an internship which will start in February.

This is just proof that hard work really does pay off.
