Karl Lagerfeld’s collection for Net-a-Porter, simply titled Karl, launched yesterday with pop-up stores and parties in Paris, New York, Sydney, Berlin andLondon. In an interview with Vogue’sHamish Bowles, Lagerfeld explained that the collection was an expression of his style and taste – he designed clothes that he likes.
The collection of mostly black and white sleek separates flew off shelves yesterday, and several designs are already sold out online. The price-point is much more accessible than Chanel, but it will still set you back a few (average price for an item is around $250). Proving that the line really is all about Karl, he even interviewed himself in a promotional video.

Duran Duran has finally released their model-tastic music video “Girl Panic!” We’re not just talking any models, these are the supers: Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Eva Herzigova, Helena Chrisensen, and Yasmin Le Bon (who is also the wife of Duran Duran front man, Simon Le Bon). They play the boys, Naomi Campbell singing front and center with the rest of the crew banging on their instruments, and talk about living the fabulous life of a rock star – groupies, booze, paparazzi, and of course beautiful women. This video (nearly a short film at 9 minutes) is seriously sexy – there’s no doubt these supermodels have still got it.
This morning’s edition of Monday Morning Photos is high-fashion inspired – but with a twist. This short film, by Yolanda Dominguez, features real women in Spain recreating poses from high-fashion spreads. The women stood still in busy marketplaces as passersby stared, poked, and walked away bewildered. The film was meant as a critique of the fashion world and how it creates unrealistic images of women that do not apply to the majority of women in the world. What do you think??

British designer Andrew Buckler, an honored guest at the School of Fashion’s 2011 Graduation Show, has come out with a short film for his Spring 2012 collection. The film was inspired by the structures and buildings of NYC, seen through the eyes of photographers like Jacob Riis and Lewis Hine. It features a group of attractive Buckler boys and girls, and a high-stakes game of backgammon – and it’s seriously cool.
