Last week, some School of Fashion students helped dress some of the fine models at the Eco-Fashion Show at Global Green USA’s 5th Annual Gorgeous and Green San Francisco Benefit. Thomas-Ray Eccles (a.k.a. T-Ray) along with Johnny Aguilar, Sasha Nelson, Ashley Wells, Casey Evangelista, Michelle Chen, Kali Clark, Gena Banducci, Taryn Santa Cruz, Sebastian Vos, and Paula Kidwell were the team that made sure all the models got into their runway looks in a timely manner.

Among those garments were pieces by alumna Sara Shepherd as well as a garment by the 1OAK team.

It seems as though Priscilla Guimarais, Kumiko Haruyama, Nui Tanapornwattana, Audrey Wang, and Tramaine Tillman are still getting lots of attention for their 1OAK design that actress Ginnifer Goodwin donned at the 20th Anniversary Environmental Media Awards a couple of weeks ago. This time, the hospital scrubs-turned-red carpet gown was in the “What’s HOT this week” column in Life & Style magazine.

Fashion students Priscilla Guimarais, Kumiko Haruyama, Nui Tanapornwattana, Audrey Wang, and Tramaine Tillman deserve a pat on the back – actually they deserve bragging rights for their 1OAK dress they created this summer. The dress they fashioned out of hospital scrubs was worn by actress Ginnifer Goodwin (known for her roles in Big Love, He’s Just Not That Into You and soon to be seen in Tom Ford’s directorial debut, A Single Man) at the 20th Anniversary Environmental Media Awards in Los Angeles.

This just goes to show that sustainable fashion isn’t all about hemp dresses and vegan shoes.
