The Academy of Art University Galleries are debuting their newest exhibits this week! Starting Friday, you can see Bong-soo Koh’s Earth-inspired sculptures at the 625 Gallery, Barry Focha’s colorful paintings at the Cannery, and Michelle Drewes‘ stunning photography at the 688 Gallery. A visit to the gallery is the perfect afternoon activity for this cold weather – you can stay warm and be inspired!

Gallery exhibitions kick off the new year

79gallery

The 79 Gallery is located at 79 New Montgomery. Hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

625gallery

The 625 Gallery is located at 625 Sutter. Hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Also, the 688 Gallery will present the Artists’ Book Exhibition that showcases the best student books and broadsides from the Book Arts and Letterpress classes. The show will include a wall of letterpress printed broadsides hung salon-style as well as carefully arranged artists’ books to be handled carefully and read. Artworks include hand printed and bound volumes, book objects, limited edition letterpress books and one of a kind books. The exhibition continues through Jan. 29. Located at 688 Sutter. Hours are Monday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
