7×7 is Looking for Summer Interns!

7×7 Magazine is looking for two star interns who are able to start ASAP in assisting with the many areas surrounding their Photo Department. These interns will obtain valuable training and real-life experience that will readily prepare them for entry-level jobs in the magazine print industry. One intern should be able to work three days a week with another who can work two days per week, so this is the perfect opportunity for students with part-time jobs who are looking for a new and exciting challenge.

The intern’s job duties will include:
- Photo research via stock image agencies and/or Google
- Opportunities to assist and be trained on photo shoots
- Contacting PR companies for many amazing hotels, restaurants, musicians and the like for press images to be used for upcoming issues of 7×7
- Working with tight deadlines and following up with PR companies to ensure all necessary subject matter is in on time
- Producing small scale photo shoots

Wu Di Featured in 7×7 Magazine!

Another one for the press booksWu Di was featured in the March issue of  7×7 Magazine! Sketches from her Fall 2012 Collection are showcased along with a few words about the experience of showing at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The article is part of the magazine’s new feature, Portfolio, which will showcase the work of local talents each month. We hope to see more students from the Academy of Art University in the future!

7×7 Is Looking for Editorial Interns!

Still in school and raring to write? 7×7 is looking for a few editorial interns to work at the magazine during the January – June semester. If you’re hip to what’s happening all over SF and are a student currently enrolled in classes, you could be a part of our team.

The Fine Print

Interns are part of a small editorial team and work very closely with staff. They are responsible for research, fact checking, writing, and some administrative tasks.

7×7 offers three internship cycles: January – June, June – September, September – December. The positions are unpaid and require a commitment of 15-20 hours/week. Internships can only be offered to students currently enrolled in classes who will receive course credit for this internship position.

They are looking for interns to start in early January – so apply now!

Tonight’s the Night! Fashion’s Night Out!

It’s finally here – the night we’ve all been waiting for – Fashion’s Night Out!! A night to put on that outfit you’ve been dying to wear, go out with friends and have a good time, AND (most importantly) celebrate Fashion!

Neiman Marcus and 7×7 Magazine are hosting this year’s FNO bash, featuring designs from our very own Academy of Art University students! There will also be trunk shows, drinks and sweets, music, and more. This is not a night to be missed!

A 7×7 Magazine Internship is Up For Grabs!

Attention San Francisco-based Fashion Journalism students (or anyone else who might be interested): The SF lifestyle publication 7×7 Magazine is looking for interns for Fall 2010.

Candidates must be students (either on summer break or currently enrolled in classes; graduated seniors do not count) and must be available to work 2-3 full days each week. The program will start in September and end in December.

If interested, submit a resume and 3 writing samples to 7×7 Assistant Editor Allison McCarthy (amccarthy@hartlemedia.com) no later than August 1. Please no cover letters. Duties will include everything from fact checking and researching to story writing. Job responsibilities will be discussed in detail if chosen for an interview.
