Do You Want to Attend Fashion’s Night Out?

Since last year’s Fashion’s Night Out was such a success, the fashion Gods (and by that I mean the important people in the industry) have decided to do it again on Sept. 10.

Dubbed as the “biggest fashion party,” the event spans the globe. New York City is the epicenter of action with appearances by celebs, designers, and other important people that are oogle-worthy — but that doesn’t mean San Francisco is out of the picture. Last year, the School of Fashion partnered with Neiman Marcus to celebrate FNO with a night of shopping and fashion; showcasing the talent of our school.

But if you want to attend the big event in NYC, you can enter a contest at CBS for a chance to win an all access VIP pass to Fashion’s Night Out. All you have to do is upload a video and say why you like fashion — or something like that. Simple enough, right? Click here to enter.

Jonathan Adler and Simon Doonan’s night out!

Edith (the lovely PR diva from the school of fashion) was roaming about New York during Fashion’s Night Out (she’s the one who caught ALT on iPhone cam) and while at Barneys she ran into Jonathan Adler and Simon Doonan and snapped a snazzy pic with her iPhone.

What would the world be without the convenience of Smart Phones?

Andre loves his Manolos

By

Many of us from the School of Fashion are here in New York prepping for tomorrow’s show at Bryant Park (don’t forget to watch the live webcast).

Some of us decided to take a break from prepping and join fashion in their night out. Of course, the streets were hustling and bustling with fashion lovers in Manhattan and Edith (one of our PR gurus) spotted someone very special at the Manolo Blahnik store:

andre

Yup. That’s Andre Leon Talley in one of his signature…um…looks.

Gladys Perint Palmer’s Paris couture illustrations decorate the the floors of Neiman Marcus on Fashion’s Night Out

Fashion’s Night Out, the brainchild of editor extraordinaire Anna Wintour couldn’t have guessed what a hit it would be. While New York City and other fashion capitals around the globe were celebrating fashion in their own way, the School of Fashion and Neiman Marcus partnered to boost consumer confidence and stimulated the fashion economy on Thursday night in San Francisco.

Instructors from the school, current students, and alums were in there to provide demonstrations, present their collections, and speak first-hand with consumers about what they want out of fashion. Anxious shoppers took to the six floors of designer digs and enjoyed shopping while eating delicious food, drinking refreshments, and listening to cool music.

Cheers Anna, it was a great success just as much in San Francisco as it was in New York.

79 New Montgomery is ready for Fashion’s Night Out

If you don’t already know, the School of Fashion is teaming up with Neiman Marcus for Fashion’s Night Out – an event that Anna Wintour spearheaded in New York to boost consumer confidence and make fashion fun again.

While the fashion peeps on the East Coast are doing their thing, we will be rockin’ it on Sept. 10 with designer demonstrations, refreshments and a whole lotta shoppin’.

We are less than a week away from the event, but our store window on 79 New Montgomery is all dressed and ready to go:

Dressed in the snazzy Fashion’s Night Out tee (40 percent of the sale of these will be donated by the retailers to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center) the mannequins stand next to a Gladys Perint Palmer’s illustration of Dior’s most recent haute couture collection.

Looks like those fancy headless gals are ready for a night out on the town!

The Fashion’s Night Out PSA is so happy

If this bubbly Fashion’s Night Out public service announcement alone doesn’t make fashion fun again, I don’t know what will…

That is a whole lotta happy. Even Anna Wintour looked delighted – and you would be too if P. Diddy was doing a little jig next to you.

And by the way, San Francisco is also having it’s own Fashion’s Night Out. Neiman Marcus and the School of Fashion are teaming up to make “fashion fun again.” Click here for the deets.
